Disaster Risk Reduction /Climate Change Adaptation and First Aid training for primary students

In total, 420 students of grade 4 and 5 were trained FA skills and 2,146 students were involved in DRR training classes in the 2 cities. Before, 54 teachers and 150 teachers of those schools were trained FA skills and DRR/CCA respectively so that they could teach their students. Those trainings also involved the staffs from the Cities Offices of Education and Training who monitored the activity as a part of an effort to integrate disaster risk reduction into school curriculum which will ultimately result in an increase in school safety in the face of disasters and climate change.
The main purposes of these trainings are to provide the basic knowledge and skills of FA as well as DRR/CCA to students so that those children know how to help themselves and their families in preparing and responding to natural disasters, and in conducting basic first aid to their friends or their relatives in emergency situations.
